ACCOMODATION

GORILLA FOREST CAMP

Gorilla forest camp is a high end tented camp located on the Mountain side of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It has been designed as a first class accommodation facility overlooking the misty valleys. Accommodation is with en suite facilities with hot and cold running water and bath tubs overlooking the forest. Accommodation is in double tents, each tent contains two queen sized beds as well as a spacious wooden veranda where guests can relax and enjoy a private meal while enjoying the mystery of the surrounding rain forest. The camp offers a bar and dining cottage overlooking the rain forest.
At night, traditional camp fires are often lit from where lectures might be given by a visiting primatologist.

GORILLA RESORT

This is an exclusive high end safari camp with a breathtaking view of the Bwindi Forest located at Buhoma. The camp has a main lodge which includes a restaurant and a bar, a lounge and kitchen with a suspended deck that features a camp fire over looking the rain forest.

The camp has luxurious cottages and safari tents set on elevated wooden platforms that offer amazing views of the Bwindi forest. The safari tents have en suite facilities including hot and cold water and are also fitted with a Victorian ball and a claw foot brass bath tub.

Accommodation is on Full board basis.

MANTANA TENTED CAMP

This is a mid-range tented camp, one kilometer outside the park boundary. All the self contained tents have solar lighting and an eco-friendly toilet and a private veranda. Accommodation is on full board basis.

BUHOMA HOMESTEAD

This is a small mid-range accommodation that offers en suite traditionally built cottage units with individual verandas that offer excellent views of the tropical rain forest. All bathrooms have hot and cold running water and flush toilets. A solar system provides for lighting in the cottages and common areas. A bar service provides local beers, spirits and wines for purchase. International and local dishes are prepared and meals can be taken inside the dining room and hot beverages can be delivered to the visitor cottages. The homestead is less than five minutes walk to the park headquarters.

KITANDARA TENTED CAMP

This camp is located outside the park gate in Buhoma and the tented camp overlooks the rain forest. All the tents have hot water, flushing toilets and bath tubs. Solar power is also provided. Both local and international dishes are prepared.

BUHOMA COMMUNITY BANDAS

These are low budget accommodation without en suite facilities. The camp was set up in 1993 by the local community in a bid to benefit from Gorilla tourism. Accommodation is provided in clean bandas each with a solar electric lighting. Five bandas have shared toilet facilities. There is a reception building which offers a bar and dining room.

A variety of cold beers and soft drinks as well as food are available. All meals are prepared on order.

VOLCANOES TENTED CAMP

The Bwindi Volcanoes lodge is an up market lodge which overlooks the Bwindi Forest and consists of several self contained tents all with solar lighting. The restaurant and bar is on a wooden deck with a great view of the forest.
