Nature Walks
There are opportunities for short and long nature guided walks in the park but the most interesting area is the Maramagambo forest. Walks in Maramagambo forest offer the visitor a chance to watch a variety of birds as well as mammals such as chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, giant forest hogs, pigmy antelopes, yellow-backed tigers. Three different guided walks can be undertaken from the visitors’ center. The most popular walk leads to a large cave where bats and giant pythons are resident. For bird watchers, the track around the back of Lake Nyamusingire gives visitors opportunities of seeing red-chested cuckoo, slender-billed greenbul, brown Illadopsis, green combrec and black and white fly catcher as well as rare species such as scaly-breasted Illadopsis, snowy-headed robin-chat and chestnut wattle-eye.

The most straight forward walk is around the shores of Lake Kyasanduka. This is also a popular spot for seeing a variety of bird species. The forest in this area is home to brown-eared woodpecker, little and yellow-whiskered greenbul, cameroon sombre, chestnut wattle-eye, white-breasted negrofinch and red-headed bluebill.
Nature walks along the top to the Kyambura gorge, while looking down on the forest, gives magnificent views of the tops of the trees and the birds that could be feeding on them. If you are lucky, you can spot chimpanzees
