Geography
Semliki
National Park is located in the extreme
west of Uganda in the district of Bundibugyo.
It mainly has a dense tropical lowland
forest which is an extension of the Congo’s
Ituri rain forest, but with some grassland,
wetland and Bamboo forest. The terrain
is quite flat ranging from 670-760metres
above sea level. Many areas are flooded
during the rainy season as many streams
and rivers run through the park thus providing
watering places and good spots to observe
animals. The average annual rainfall is
1,250mm and the highest rainy seasons
are from March to May and September to
December.
The temperature range lies between 18
degrees centigrade to 30 degrees centigrade.

Hornbills are also particularly well represented
