DAY 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After
breakfast head towards the west
from Kampala and have a stopover
at the Equator for photographs,
proceed to Mbarara town for lunch
and thereafter continue your journey
to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
En route on your way to the park
there is a possibility of seeing
Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes,
Hyenas and a variety of Antelope
species.
Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana
Safari Lodge (High end) Or Mweya
Hostel (budget).
DAY 2: In Queen Elizabeth National Park
An
early morning mini-breakfast followed
with an early game drive at 6.30am.There
are excellent opportunities of seeing
Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Buffaloes,
Elephants, Side Stripped Jackal, Semi-aquatic
Sitatunga, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda
Kobs, Topi and Bush Bucks. Over 200km
of well maintained tracks give visitor
access to the park game. Return to lodge
by 11am for breakfast.
After lunch, enjoy the 2-hour boat cruise
on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward.
This trip gives avenue of possibly seeing
the highest concentration of yawning hippos
surrounded by a vast number of bird life.
Many buffaloes rest in water with crocodiles
being a common site along the shore. Other
animals may be seen drinking at the water's
edge. This boat cruise offers an excellent
platform for photography, bird watching
and game viewing. Return to lodge for
dinner and overnight.
DAY 3:
In Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a very early breakfast, there is an optional possibility of either going to the Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking with the possibility of seeing a variety of primates or going for another game drive to view wildlife. Return for Breakfast/Lunch.
After
lunch, visit the crater lakes region,
Baboon cliffs and Katwe Salt works for
a glimpse into traditional salt mining.
This is one of the oldest salt mines in
Uganda established in the 14th Century.Return
to lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: Transfer
to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo
National Park. Have a lunch stop at Mbarara
town and thereafter proceed to the park.
Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented
camp/Mihingo lodge (high end) or Rwonyo
camp(Budget)
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala.
After breakfast go for morning game drive.
Expect to see zebras, topis, elephants,
elands, impalas, buffaloes, antelopes
and finally pass by Lake Mburo .Return
to camp for lunch and thereafter transfer
to Kampala or Entebbe Airport.
