NGAMBA CHIMPANZEE TOUR UGANDA

Approximately 5000 chimpanzees are killed by poachers for bush meat every year and dozens of infant Chimpanzees are taken alive from forests. As a result, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary was established in October 1998 as a safe home to keep and care for these individual chimps, confiscated or rescued within Uganda.

Location

The sanctuary which is 100acres of rain forest is located 23km southwest of Entebbe and can be reached by water on a motorized speed boat.

Activities

Organised trips are arranged for visitors to visit the sanctuary and see the Chimps being fed and cared for. This provides a high quality educational experience about the Chimps.
